Facebook Spam?!

with one comment

Wow, I’m getting back to you sooner than I thought. The thing is, I got a couple of messages on Facebook lately, that aren’t real messages, but probably just Spam. The one above is in German, but it says something like (I don’t want to do a full translation):

Hey,
you look pretty. So I wanted to use my chance and I hope I have sparked your interest. Maybe you could call me (gives out “her” phone number) I’d appreciate that.

Take care

BTW: I’m moving right now, so maybe you wanna help me (haha, good pun, huh? No…)

So basically this fake woman whom I don’t know (she claims to be a lady named Susanne Lippert) sends me this absolutely cheap message with those terrible pick-up lines. But I don’t see the point why someone would do this. I mean, the usual spam wants to a) hack your computer or b) sell sex drugs to you. But this kind of stuff is just annoying. Like the fake millionaire from Nigeria, you know?

What I did is: I called the number the crazy person behind all that gave out to the public. But no one answered it. But the number exists!

So, what’s your theory on that. Is it just something made up to annoy German Facebook users. Or is it maybe some kind of act of revenge. Like she breaks up with him and then he gives out her phone number?

It just doesn’t make sense. But, I’d definitely love to hear from you on that topic.

Getting ready to move…

without comments

Find this picture on TwitPic

Well, there you have it. I’m going to move to my new place near Kiel on Saturday. It’s all very exciting stuff, also because it’s the first time I leave home for a longer time than just a few weeks. It’ll be one year that I’m away from home. I’ll have a new home, hopefully. But yeah, I think the place is nice.

So, I didn’t find the time in the last couple of weeks to keep this thing here updated. The number one reason for that is, that I got my high school diploma and had to party. Understandable, probably. And the number two reason is that I had to prepare for moving of course.

And yeah, that’s it basically. If you want to know what I do in the meantime, come on Twitter and become one of my beloved followers.

Gosh, I’m so melancholic right now, probably because I’m listening to Amy Winehouse. No, I’m not melancholic because of her as a person but because of the song, “To Know Him Is To Love Him”.

Anyways, I’ll try to update the blog when I have moved to my new place successfully. Until then, take care everyone!

Spiderpig gets real!

This is so awesome. A German blogger (or rather sketchblogger) whose posts I adore – his name is Jojo – has created a real-live stunningly authentic spiderpig! Unfortunately it’s not the original spiederpig character from the Simpsons movie, probably because of copyright restrictions. But hey, it’s a spiderpig!

So, check it out for yourself!

JOSH HOMME IS HOMOPHOBIC!!! Not.

with one comment

In the last couple of days, on particular web site has blazingly fast reached the status of becoming my very personal and beloved home page in Safari – Pitchfork. It’s one of those sites where I try to read at least the first paragraph of every single new article. Tonight one specific article caught my attention:

Josh Homme Defends Himself: “Homophobic? I’m in Queens of the Stone Age for Crissake”

The reason why I was interested in that is probably because homophobia is a topic that concerns myself. So I read the first parts and got even more interested into the story (I know, it’s coming, I’m building up to it!). It all goes back to this incident (the important stuff starts at 3:26 min):

Now, after watching this, one would (hopefully) think ‘what a douche bag!’. But now take a look at the open letter that Josh Homme released today:

Member of the Peanut Gallery:

Some journalists & citizens on the internet & are wondering: Q? Am I a homophobe because I included a slang for gay in with other “acceptable” curse words during a verbal lashing I gave a young concertgoer, after being hit by his shoe, during a show the other day? A= Nope. My gay family & friends, as well as myself, KNOW I am not a homophobe. For years now I’ve known gay is not a choice; one’s skin color doesn’t determine one’s intelligence level; & red hair doesn’t mean you’re someone’s stepchild. You see, it’s not the words, it’s their intent. I never said, nor suggested, that being gay is wrong, but apparently, based on your outrage to my flu-infused rant, you do! By that logic… I also told that young whipper snapper I’d have anal sex with him… how can I possibly reconcile these opposing viewpoints? I called him a pussy too. Does it mean I hate our one worlds’ collective vagina? I never have been nor intend to be politically correct. That’s your cross to bear. To me, that PC world would suck more shit than the porta-potty truck at Glastonbury. Homophobic? I’m in Queens of the Stone Age for crissake… You say, “So. Your band name doesn’t prove anything.” Maybe not. But it’s a helluv a lot more definitive than the logic of some watchdog… (sorry canine-American, canine-European, canine-African, canine-Australian & canine-Asian) moralist, keeping score from pure perfectionville? If your glass house is squeegeed that clean & you need to do something, do what the great philosopher Bill Hicks once suggested: – forgive me-. Or don’t. I’m not asking for either, OK? I think you should let both of your cheeks go loose so the stick will drop out. Either way I expect that you’ll soon find another injustice from your chair, then roll to your bullhorn & point it out to the rest of us… Because you’re so above it all. Or If you’ll allow me to translate a wish of mine into your PC lingo:
Will you please go have consensual, sex with yourself.
Pretty please with all natural, carbon offset sugar on top.

Sincerely,
Mr. Missundastood
A.K.A. Joshua, Baby Duck, Jho
Head Choreographer & Do Stuff Corporation’s pansexual spokes-thing

Isn’t that one hell of a response? I consider it being made of awesome.

And now, stay classy San Diego!

Stage Dive FM

with 2 comments

Screenshot taken from laut.fm/stagedive

Well, after a kind of longish break I check back in with an announcement: Peter is now hosting his own web radio station! So far, it’s music only, selected by Peter himself and as you know, that’s a guarantee for good quality music. You’ll hear tracks from artists like David Bowie, U2, Radiohead, The Whitest Boy Alive, Feist, The Fratellis, Sondre Lerche, The Futureheads, Tokyo Police Club and many others.

In the nearer future there will also be “real shows” with your host Peter. Unfortunately those shows will be in German, at least that’s the plan, since the hosting site, laut.fm, is German.

Until then, check out the station profile at laut.fm/stagedive or simply put the exact same URL in iTunes or the like and you’ll receive a crystal-clear 128 kbit/s stereo MP3 stream. Isn’t that just great news? Yeah, I know it is. So, fire up your iTunes and start listening to Stage Dive FM TODAY!

Happy listening!

Thou shall help other bloggers

with 2 comments

Homeless. Almost.

From time to time one is required to help others. And this is the case today for me. Marcel, the author of one of the German blogs I read, is looking for an appartment in Hamburg, preferably through flat share.

If anyone of my few but beloved readers has any suggestions, leave Marcel a comment or contact him elsewise. It’s much appreciated!

Thanks for now, I’ll talk to you soon :)

Casino

with one comment

Copyright: © 2007 by SPIELBANK HAMBURG. All Rights Reserved.

Last night was a great night. Me being in Hamburg at the moment, we went to the Casino Esplanade, located right in the center of Hamburg and only a few steps away from the famous Jungfernstieg and the Binnenalster. I know, this sounds like a commercial, and it is in a way. But only because I want to advertise this place, not because I get paid for it which I don’t. But anyways.

We went there because my mate Jan got about 45€ (≈ US$70) in chips for his birthday just a few days before. And since I would stay in Hamburg until Tuesday morning, I came with them, that being Jan, my mate Niklas, and two of their friends. We drove there by car, all of us dressed up in suits or at least really exalted clothings.

When we arrived I was completely blown away. This place is huge. And when I say huge I mean huge. It really looks like a castle or something or yeah, it rather looks like a real full-scale casino. I went in there with my sunglasses on (it was after midnight) and took them down right at the moment I started talking to the admission guy. He checked my passport and after I paid the 2€ (≈ US$3,10) entrance fee I was free to go.

I had never been to a casino before. It was all glamourous and upscale decorated, even in the ground floor where they had the one-armed bandits and the other childish stuff. No, I’m only kidding, it can be fun too I guess. But we went right upstairs to the second floor. There they had all the poker and black jack tables and the roulettes.

I have to say, I really felt kind of uncomfortable there during the first time. It didn’t feel like it was my thing really. I’m not the kind of a guy who does all those expensive things like, uhm, yeah, going to the casino probably. But it turned out to really being an “extremely enjoyable experience”.

Looking at all those rich people running around there was real fun actually. I remember one guy, probably the son of an Arab oil sheik or something, who constantly put another 500€ banknote (≈ US$780) on the table every five or ten minutes. Another one was probably drunk because he ran around shouting really loudly and asking people if they wanted to be sponsored by him. Crazy times.

But I for myself didn’t spend any money that night. Not because I din’t want to in the end, but because we left too early. OK, it already was 3 am at the time but that was the moment when I felt comfortable enough to do some roulette myself. The two hours before that moment I was only checking out the place and messing around with the people there. And of course I tried to get behind the game. Which I actually did – in my imagination I bet on the number 24. And then it actually appeared to be the number to be chosen by the roulette that turn. Betting only 2€ I could have won 70€ (≈ US$110). Too bad.

So, looking back at the event I really wanted to go to a casino again in the near future. And I knew that there was one in Leipzig, right next to the biggest cinema in town. But oh dear, what a crappy place this seems to be. They have no entrance fee, no dress code and, that’s the worst, no actual roulettes or poker tables but only gaming machines! What the bloody hell?! I can only imagine the people in there: random idiots clothed in bad hip hop outfits giggling in front of the fucking electronic roulette. What shitty place is that? And that’s the only casino in Leipzig! They don’t have another one!!!

Well, I’ll probably go in there one day impersonating a bloody rich snotty youngster from New York whose father is on a business trip to Leipzig. And then I’ll behave like a drama queen that they don’t have any actual cashiers and then they’ll fall down on their knees begging for mercy! YEAH!!!

Fuck Leipzig.

Hamburg rocks!

Hair cut

New hair cut

Folks, I just got my hair cut and coloured. And believe me, I’m lovin’ it. The whole thing emerged from a spontaneous idea last night where I just knew ‘Peter, you have to get yourself black hair!’. So here I am, with black hair right there on my head and I’m happy. Hah!
