VISA?!

I just tried to purchase my new hosting plan + a domain registration at the guys over at GoDaddy.com. It just wouldn’t work.
Step 1: PayPal
Since I just created a PayPal account for buying some stuff on eBay a few days ago I thought ‘Well, PayPal could be the easiest way to do this.’ My bank account is verified by PayPal as “reliable” or something so there wouldn’t be any problems that PayPal would grab the money from my bank account and send it over to GoDaddy when they requested it. That’s at least what I was hoping.
It turned out that, even though I already entered a verified payment method into my PayPal account, GoDaddy simply demanded entering my credit card information. I did that and booom!
“We’re sorry, this credit card was rejected by the bank that registered it for you. Please contact their customer support for more information.”
Bummer. What should I do? You know, the problem with my credit card could be that it is not one of those old school credit cards but a prepaid type one. Those are often used by people who don’t have a regular income yet, like myself, because it allows you to spend up to 2,500 € per month while without a regular income an old-fashioned credit card wouldn’t even be possible to get. So maybe PayPal magically knows that there is no credit line for this credit card and it rejects it. I don’t know. I already contacted my bank so hopefully we’ll find out what’s behind all that.
Step 2: Credit card
So, in my desperate situation I of course also tried to use my credit card as a direct payment method to purchase my GoDaddy order. It didn’t work out as well so there really may be some problems around that special type of credit card. Stupid crap ass bitch.
Step 3: Checking account debit
The last chance I saw in the long list of payment methods was the so-called “checking account debit”. Yeah, just take the money from my bank account – done deal! But no, it seems like this payment method is only open to people who have a U.S. bank account.
So, yeah, what the bloody hell is going on?! I want to purchase the god damn thing, I seriously want to give you money for a service! And what do you do? You just close it down, only for me as it seems. Ah, I hate it!

damn bureaucracy!
hope they’ll accept your money soon!

A little update from me here:
It seems like both PayPal and GoDaddy are checking if the requested amount of money is stored on the account of the credit card. This is not the case since I just ordered the transfer of the money on the card yesterday. So I’ll wait until the money is on the card and then it should work, that’s what the bank told me.
It’d better be true… Grrr…
